Specialists I can call on
Structural engineers, electricians, roofers, asbestos and heating specialists. When a finding goes beyond my scope I say so and bring in someone who owns that question, rather than improvising.
Agents, brokers and relocation advisers
You meet the buyer before I do. If your client needs the building assessed by someone independent of the sale, in English or German, I am the person who does not also want the commission.
Surveyors in other cities
I inspect in Berlin and Zürich. Enquiries arrive from elsewhere. I would rather refer those to someone good than turn them away, and I am happy for that to run both ways.
People training into the profession
Engineering, architecture, surveying or construction, and serious about becoming a Sachverständige. I cannot offer a salaried role today. I can answer questions honestly about the route, the certification and what the work is actually like.
